Postdoctoral Opportunities
We have openings for postdoctoral research fellow positions in the Park research group within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Kentucky. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates. We employ both basic sciences and engineering approaches to modulate inflammatory responses after neural trauma. Currently funded projects for postdoctoral researchers focus on the Reprogramming Neuroimmune Responses after Spinal Cord Injury. The prospective candidates will be expected to contribute to our research program where they will have opportunities to pursue technical developments in tissue engineering, biomaterials, neural engineering, gene therapy and nanotechnology for the tissue regeneration after neurotrauma, and conduct preclinical and translational research. Experience with mouse or rat work is highly desired such as microsurgery (rodent spinal cord injury model), tissue harvesting, and behavioral tests. Previous experience in biochemical assays, microscopy, cell culture, nanoparticle, biomaterials, immunohistochemistry and/or related areas would be helpful.
We have access to core facilities and staffs in College of Pharmacy, Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center, and across the UK campus with expertise in animal behavior assays, CNS trauma surgery, viral vector production, imaging, genomics, and biochemical assays. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply via an email with a current CV including names of three references, and a one-page of research statement to Dr. Jonghyuck Park (jonghyuck.park@uky.edu).
Graduate Student Opportunities
We are actively recruiting a graduate student to join our lab. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Dr. Park at jonghyuck.park@uky.edu.
